7.6.20 May & June in Review!

July 6, 2020

Hello Internet World! I am back! I skipped the May Lookback because, quite honestly, not much has been going on around here as we’re still quarantining to some extent and Alex has undergone now two (!) back surgeries … we are doing a lot of at-home recovery in his nifty hospital recliner! He’s not yet … More 7.6.20 May & June in Review!

5.12.20 A Lookback to April

May 12, 2020

Aaaanndddd we’re back! For another lookback to a month in quarantine. Has anyone else felt like time has slowed down incredibly? Some days I feel so lucky to have this time to do the things I used to always find myself wishing I had more time for. And other days seem to pass by and … More 5.12.20 A Lookback to April

3.2.20 February in Review

March 2, 2020

FEBRUARY, IN REVIEW February has come and gone! And with it goes my first trip abroad, lots of progress on our teardrop trailer, and a couple of coloring gigs that have kept me busy before and after regular work hours. It was a grind…but a happy one. Onto March we go!   Reading: The Immortalists, … More 3.2.20 February in Review

1.29.20 January’s Lookback

January 29, 2020

While sort of reflecting on my goals and expectations for the new year, I just so happened to think about this little corner of the internet of mine, and in particular these monthly lookback posts. While I love them for a variety of reasons — they hold me accountable to blog at least once a … More 1.29.20 January’s Lookback

1.6.20 December 2019 in Review

January 6, 2020

Before the first month of the new year slips on by as it tends to do, I wanted to squeeze in a quick December Lookback post from 2019! These posts have been a really fun way for me to reflect back on my months and really pause to give thanks for all of the fun … More 1.6.20 December 2019 in Review

12.4 November’s Lookback

December 4, 2019

November was simultaneously fast and slow. I enjoyed the first half of the month by going to concerts, finishing up my third Online Editing Class (woohoo!) on the weekends, and resurrecting my love of coffee-shop-reading! It was fun being in a different part of town for my classes … so I took advantage of my … More 12.4 November’s Lookback

11.5 October’s Review

November 5, 2019

OCTOBER IN HINDSIGHT Reading –  Go Tell It On The Mountain, by James Baldwin, is a literary classic about a boy named John in 1930s Harlem and his relationship to both his family and the church. It’s a coming-of-age story, loosely based on Baldwin’s own upbringing. It reminded me of one of those novels … More 11.5 October’s Review

10.15 September in Review

October 15, 2019

Super late…but not forgotten! Here is September’s Lookback List, comin’ in hot!   SEPTEMBER, IN REVIEW: READING: This month I actually finished two very different, but equally fantastic novels. The first, which has jumped pretty high on my ‘favorites’ list is called Cutting For Stone by Abraham Verghese. It is a work of fiction that takes … More 10.15 September in Review

9.2 August’s Lookback

September 2, 2019

August is officially over and with it, it’s taken the last of our cool summer days! We are officially in the “dog days of summer” it seems, where we sometimes go sit in our cars just to feel a little bit of air conditioning in the middle of the day or take sleepy afternoon naps … More 9.2 August’s Lookback

7.14 June’s Lookback

July 14, 2019

The month of June was somewhat of a hectic one, as we spent an entire week with our Marty in the Vet ER, and then lots of trips back afterwards for followup appointments. And then there was lots of dog sitting our favorites: Lucy and Banjo. In the midst of all the craziness though, we … More 7.14 June’s Lookback

WHAT I'M READING:

maybe I would have gotten through this quicker *had* I been on vacation … 🌴
I wouldn’t identify this as “a great American novel” … written from someone on the outside. More interested to discuss the controversial topics that the writing/publishing of this book brought up, more than the story itself. 😕
Four badass (old) lady assassins…this was just very fun 🔪☺️
Had to snag this one, written by a professor at my alma mater (H2P!💙💛) Funny and endearing, sad at times … told through a fun therapy-like perspective. Cara is a true blue character.
